On this day 80 years ago, May 8th, 1945, marked Victory in Europe Day (V-E Day) which saw the fall of Nazi Germany, signifying the end of the Second World War in Europe. It was the same day when the citizens of Acton received word and held two parades in honour of this monumental day.
